Did your parents talk about healthy living? Our parents used to talk about time and how the years seemed to go by faster and faster. You know, when you’re young, that sounds like crazy talk. However, when you get older, do you realize it does go faster?
Time is an illusion. It truly is; how do you spend your time? How are you going to spend 2022? Have you thought about your health goals? Health is what we always continue to work towards. So it’s not our health goal. It’s our healthy lifestyle and our healthy living journey. This is something we work on all the time.
Have you thought about that? Our cabinets are full of crazy stuff because people make all kinds of sweets; it’s tough to stay away from those, the desserts, the fantastic foods, all those things. So it’s time to think about what we are going to do. Let’s figure out how to make healthy choices and incorporate them into your lifestyle.
We hate telling people, “you can’t do this, you can’t do that.” If you do that, what’s the first thing you’re going to want to do? That’s all you’re going to think about is what I’m telling you what you can’t do. We don’t want to say that you have to cut out this or that.
The Best Preventative Medicine in Healthy Living
Everybody talks about preventative medicine. Well, the best preventive medicine is taking care of your health. If you take care of your health and wellness, what will happen? You’re not going to have to see me at the pharmacy; you will put your health as a priority, and you are going to do what is most vital for you and your family.
You’re going to set those good examples, and that is key. I want to show you how minor changes can make huge impacts on your life and your family’s life, and the best present is being present.
Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
How are we going to start? Number one, you need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. What does that mean? You need to take those chances. You’re thinking, “oh, goodness, I don’t know if I can do this healthy living thing, I like where I’m at.”
However, you have to take those chances because if you don’t, you’re going to be right here at the end of 2022. Then we will be talking about 2023 and what changes you have made; like I said, remember, time is an illusion. It’s going to fly by; where will you be if you don’t take that first step?
“Failure is a success in progress.” That was one of Einstein’s quotes. It is accurate, and we must fail to get to where we want to be. Not everything is perfect, but if we don’t take that first step, whether we succeed or fail, you never know what will happen.
14 Day Challenge
Success is, again, an illusion. You have to keep working towards something. All of this is a process, just like your healthy living journey. This is an entire process of how we will do this and make this work for you. So that’s really what I am working towards right now, my 14-Day Challenge.
What Is the 14-Day Challenge?
So what is this 14-Day challenge going to be? It’s going to be advice from your pharmacist that cares about how to, hopefully, stay away from the pharmacy and not see me there. These are just little things that we can do to make significant differences.
I’m going to help you find what you still like to do and make those healthy choices; make some alternative meals that will fit you that will be good and nutritious, full of good protein. There will be ways for you to launch yourself into that healthy living journey because we have to start somewhere. If we don’t take that first step, you’ve already failed.
You have to take that first step, get comfortable being uncomfortable. We’re going to talk about exercises you can do at home, easy things. You don’t have to go to the gym. We’re going to be talking about the workouts that we do, the easy things you can do at home, and the modifications you might need to do until you can work up to those.
These will be things that you don’t have to go out and make big purchases to do. These are things you can do right at home, working out in the comfort of your home with people you love, and you can do it every day. Of course, we’ll talk about mindset because that will be a success for this whole program. You have to know that you can do this and that we can do this together.
Take the First Step to Healthy Living
Here’s another favorite quote that I will tell you guys, and I love this one. It’s from Winston Churchill. “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” I thought that was very fitting, talking about the courage to continue because this is a journey that we are going to do, and we’re going to do this together. And I want to help lead you with that preventative, preventive nutrition, preventive medication, preventative health care. Take the first step.
